Hosting Online Games and Web Server- ive been trying to do this and ive bypassed the router but still dnt work

ive been trying to host online games, and i know the router isnt the problem because i bypassed it. ive opened the ports in the firewall and bypassed security but i still cant host the games. ive been giving people my direct ip address, and they cannot connect to my computer still. can you help?

When you say "hosting online games", I take it you have a server, and we're not talking about peer-to-peer online gaming.





Does your computer have a public IP address, and if so what is it? Make sure you provide your friends with the public IP address for your computer and not the router - unless you setup NAT correctly to point to your PC from the router (or hardware firewall if that's what you are using).





Have you correctly installed IIS? Make sure you have, and patch it to the latest version. Then check the folder and site permissions.
Reply:Since you did not provide details about your location and connection as well asa ISP...it maybe worthwhile for u to know, that in certain countries ISPs block servers...If this is the case, you may have to use a virtual router such as hamachi which will convert your dynamic IP to a static one...
