Ok i want to try some new 2d mmorpg games but i am not sure which 1s to try. if u could tell me some game sites that are like 2d and mmorpg games that are sorta like endless-online and runescape and world of warcraft those soft of games.

Online Multiplayer Games Help!?
Ok everyone, I am having some trouble here. I need a new COMPLETELY FREE online game (mmorpg preferably). I have played rakion, loved it but it got boring. I like games like that with rooms and you basically just fight. Recently I have been playing wolf team but it is closed right now for testing. I played maplestory for two days and it is soooo tedious so I need something else, even though I play a little. I want something like maplestory but a little more thrilling, you know? Smashing snails for 5 hours isn't very fun. I am not interested in WoW, or any other game that has subscriptions or places where you have to use cash to buy stuff. I know rakion has power user but it isn't a big deal, you can still thrive without paying. Thanks!

You don't need any cables. You need a wireless router or a wireless USB adapter for the Wii. Then you just go into Setting then internet, then search for an access point and you are good.
Good online games right now are Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 and Mario Strikers: Charged. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (although only will be good with friends, the random person online is junk) and Mariokart Wii (looking to be the best online experience for Wii yet) will be great online games when they come out.
EDIT: It should have a blue WiFi symbol on the front of the box, different games put it different places.

It wouldn't be economical for any game developers to provide their creations online for free either because they wouldn't make nearly as much - that's why you have to download them!

How can i get online to play video games at my school?
we have an ethernet connection, but my schools internet is so bad, every time i try to log on to either halo2 online or socom 3 or final fantasy xi or whatever, i cant get online. i have friends that play online games on their computers. they dont know anything about videogame consoles. ive called the computer support at my school. they just say that online videogaming is not a top priority (what kinda BS is that?) any suggestions as to what i should do to attempt to get online?

Are online server-based games unhealthy?
First and Foremost, Who has seen cases that prove that it's possible to become addicted to a game and became so mentally unstable with it that someone would became enraged and upset with the smallest problem in the game and stop paying attention to real life?
Does there always seem to be strong clans, or a few extremely strong players that fight amongst themselves and don't allow newer ones to grow?
Also, who agrees that the games only teach that in a nearly rule free environment that when someone gets a little power that they will suddenly think that none of the younger or weaker people are worth anything and that they're allowed to do whatever they want to them?
Lastly, does anyone think that online games of such magnitude as W.O.W. or even text based server games should be controlled by the government or even made illegal?

Japanese online games?
There's so many games I want to play in Japanese online and I tried to play some of them one day.
I am Japanese and have no problem understanding the language. But when I downloaded the game...the letters were all screwed up! First thing I did to get help was to contact tech support for the game I was trying to play, but they just said that's not their problem. It's my computer.
My computer is Windows XP and I bought it in Canada. I can read Japanese no problem on web browsers but can't type or read in games.
Anyone has same problem as I have? How can I work this out?

Ping on online games?
Ok, so, there is something I don't understand about my ping on online games. I use Xfire, a gaming tool used for chat with other people, and for connecting to servers on games such as Call of Duty, BF2 and more. When I refresh a server over Xfire thats located in my country, it says my ping is like 33 - 36, which is decent, but this is really strange as no matter what server it is, whenever I actually go into the server and connect, my ping is always about 20 higher than it says on Xfire, like I would always get around 50 - 55 ping in game. I do realise that 50 isn't bad for ping, i'm just a bit confused as to why people living further away from the located server, oftenly get better ping than me in game. It's like i'll be in a server located in London, UK, and I live about 70 miles away from London, someone from NL will get about 40 ping, and i'll be at 50...
This is strange and i'd like to know the answer to this bizzarre thing.
If anyone can help I would be grateful.

I believe you are looking at 2 seperate statistics and calling them by the same name. Ping, and Latency.
Ping is the time it takes for data to physically travel the distance between your computer and the server.
Latency is the time it takes the data to travel to the server AND be received and acted apon. ie. the time between hitting the "fire" button on your keyboard and when the server actually registers that you fired.
your latency can rise under multiple conditions. the obvious one being a slower server gets backed up processing too many inputs from too many users and the delay increases before it can get to your last input. Another cause is your Xfire program is consuming part of your bandwidth, and if your using it for voice chat, that consumes a large amount of bandwidth. As a higher percentage of your bandwidth is dedicated to voice, a lower percentage is dedicated to sending everything else, including your game inputs. Instructions that would normally be able to fit in 2ms of transmission now take mabye 6ms. and this has an increasingly cumulative effect. as you send hundreds of commands (move left, jump, move left, move left, move left, fire, move left, fire....etc) your connection becomes unable to relay all your commands in real time, so while you pushed "fire" 200ms ago, it's still in line waiting to get sent to the server behind 150 other "move left" commands.

The reason you can be closer to the server physically and someone farther away can have a better ping, is that data does not flow the most efficient physical path, it follows the most efficient logical path. This means that the signal doesn't just step next door across your lawn, but it has to travel all the way to your ISP, thru a variable number of other routing stations/servers before it gets to the servers ISP, and then back to the server. if someone else is physically located closer to their ISP than you are to yours, and they have to travel thru less routing hops than you do, then their ping will likly be lower than yours.

A very good first person shooter online for FREE, is Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory. A lot still play it and many are skilled, so expect a challenge. Have good reflexes and etc.
You don't even need a powerful computer to play, and it's all about gameplay, not graphics in this game.
Other good ones include Nexuiz and Warsow. They are also free and online. They are similar to Unreal Tournament style gameplay. I believe Warsow is the most fast-paced if you are looking to get good as a gamer.

Cool Online Sim Games?
I am a BIG fan of The Sims 2 and Desperate Housewives: The Game and I am looking for FREE online games that are similar to this... I love Habbo Hotel Aswell. I have looked at Secondlife and found it really confusing maybe it's just me. I also tried www.there.com and you have to download it and I don't want to get into any of that. Go to a search engine and type it Wii flash games. It should come up with some choices. Chose one and it will take you the the sight where you can play the wii flash games. I have a question about putting online games onto a flash drive. I know a while ago, one of my friends put a couple online games from a website, and he put it onto his flash drive. whenever he wanted to play it, all he had to do is open it out of his flash drive, and he didn't even need an internet connection for it. Does anybody know how to do that, or if you need to be on a specific website for it to work?

My son has a PS2 and is able to go online to play his video games, my question is why won't some of the games work online.When they say they should.
I'm not talking about games that are not made for on-line.
The system is about 1 yr old. and he takes care of it.

Reply:Well call of duty 4 is a first person shooter and it a great game like the guy above mention there ranks and challenges which keep the game going strong, however it does get boring I myself still play it but I'm still working on challenges which seem impossible but when you accomplish it you just want to keep playing to achieve another there resistance fall of man awesome online game play doesn't have host so if someone quit your fine you can continue to play until the last second, on call of duty4 the host decide to leave a game the game is over you do get your credit for that game. Warhawk is another great game to play it like socom but it only online without the game play like the guy mention you get jets, jeeps, tanks, and you can get in a missle seeker and shoot down plane that way or get in a automatice gun machine and shoot down plane shoot cars and tanks, it an awesome game it of course come with ranks challenges and you earn medal doing other things...it an awesome game. here a list of game coming out soon....
Reply:Since you liked socom, you will defiantly like call of duty 4 online. Call of duty 4 was the first game I bought for my PS3 and I was hooked before I even owned it. I played call of duty 4 online on my friends PS3 before I owned PS3. One of the main reason I bought my PS3 was for call of duty 4. I beat it and it's still not over! The wide variety of ranks, challenges and the graphics will keep pulling you into the game.
Once you reach level 55(highest level to get) you get to do this thing called prestige mode. When you go to prestige mode you reset your rank but you get an entirely new insignia. Everyone that is online will know you have reached level 55 and you are in prestige mode. What gets me going and going is the awesome color/camouflage for the weapons. There is desert and woodland camo for when you first unlock a weapon. If you get 75 head shots you unlock blue tiger which is a very vibrant and pretty cool looking color! When you get 125 head shots with a gun you unlock red tiger camo which looks even cooler and make your gun look extremely deadly. Now for the last color, when you complete all challenges for a certain class, demolitions, assault, sniper, etc... then you get every weapon in that class...in pure and solid gold. It will have all of your team-mates drop there controllers in amazement!
Call of duty 4 is very intense and fast moving with, explosions, loud and realistic guns and gunfire, along with the amazing and mind blowing graphics and picture like surroundings. You will be playing call of duty 4, for months and months and still never run out of things to do.
One more thing to add is, call of duty 4 got game of the year and won lots more awards and for sure deserved it!
