Is a "gaming computer" for online gaming or software games like the sims?

If it's not exactly just for online games, what kind of computer would be a little more than sufficient for software games. i'm not interested in online games but just games like the sims 2.

would a computer for software games be cheap.

A gaming computer is normally considered a high end computer for those whom want to get the best graphics and experience out of software game.

However most games can be run with most mid range computers. Games like the Sims 2 could most likely run on a computer 2 years old or so and still run on pretty high graphics and would enable you a good experience.

I would recommend buying a mid range computer. This would enable you to enjoy most of the games currently out there and would allow you to be able to play games for a few years to come, more if you spend a little money on upgrades down the road.
Reply:Most any computer is sufficient for games. A "Gaming Computer" is one that has all the most or nearly most up to date graphics card, sound card, RAM, Processor, etc. Something that can really handle some fast graphics, fps and polys. Anything no more than probably 2 years old should be sufficient for a lot of the games out. Just be sure to check the requirements on the bottom of your game to be sure. They usually have a required and a recommended. The recommended of course usually results in smoother gameplay.
Reply:I bought my gaming computer from alienware, for just under 6000 bucks, I have all of the top qual. stuff for it now, so it doesn't run cheap. I also play the sims 2. I also mod the game, and use photoshop, so it is quite useful for me.
Reply:A Gaming Computer is for gaming. And that's that! Wether software, or online!
